Türkiye'nin en büyük camilerinden biri olan cami, 10.000 kişi kapasitelidir. Mercimek Tepesi üzerinde yer alan caminin inşaatı 2011 yılında tamamlanmış ve ibadete açılmıştır. Şehrin hemen hemen her yerinden görülebilir.
