Clock Tower

The Clock Tower, one of the symbols of Sivrihisar, was built in 1899 by Mahmut Bey, the district governor at the time. It was built on a high rock mass so that it could be easily seen from all sides of the district. It is made of cut stones and has clocks on all four sides. It works with a weekly setting. It rings every hour with a brass mallet.

Sivrihisar Armenian Church

Historical Sivrihisar Armenian Church, Surp Yerortutyun Church, located in Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir, also known as Red Church, was built in 1650 and damaged by fire in 1876 and rebuilt by architect Mintes Panoyat in 1881. The church was built ion the skirts of the clock tower. It consists entirely of stone workmanship and is made with local stone. It is one of the three biggest churches in Anatolia. The building has been restored and is suitable for many services for cultural and meeting purposes.

Sivrihisar Grand Mosque

Ulu Mosque, one of the largest wooden-pillar mosques in Anatolia, is located in the Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir. Sixty-seven (67) wooden pillars support the mosque's roof. Beautiful examples of Sivrihisar rug weaving can be seen within the mosque. The wooden craftsmanship of the mosque, with its pulpit being a masterpiece of art, is also impressive. Additionally, the gravestone of Nasreddin Hodja, who lived in the 13th century and reflects the Turkish world’s understanding of wit, intelligence, and tolerance in his anecdotes, is also located in Sivrihisar Ulu Mosque. Sivrihisar Ulu Mosque was included in Türkiye's UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023.

Midas Yazılıkaya Archaeological Site

Midas Yazılıkaya City is located at the southern end of Yazılıkaya Valley formed out of tuff rocks. The site measures approximately 650 meters in length, 320 meters in width, and 60-70 meters in height. Archaeological research began in the 19th century through the contributions of various archaeologists. Midas City was a significant religious center for the Phrygians, featuring rock-cut monuments dedicated to the Mother Goddess Matar Kubileya. The city has a rich history of settlement, with influences spanning the Persian, Hellenistic, Roman, and Eastern Roman periods.

Seyyid Battal Gazi Complex and Tomb

Seyyid Battal Gazi Complex and Tomb's image
The tomb of Battal Gazi, who played a major role in the Islamization of Anatolia in the 8th century, is located in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir. The life of Battal Gazi, who dedicated his life to his faith and is known as an Islamic hero, has reached the present day through the work "Battalname." The tomb contains the tombs of Battal Gazi and his companion, Elenora, who was the daughter of a king. The length of Battal Gazi's tomb, which is 5.5 meters, is attributed to his personality and height.
