Milas Uzunyuva Mausoleum and Museum Complex
The Milas Uzunyuva Mausoleum and Museum Complex comprises several significant structures, including the Hecatomnus Sanctuary and Mausoleum, the Milas House Mansion, the Visitor Welcome Centre, the Milas Carpet Museum, and the Children's Activity Centre. The Mausoleum of Satrap Hecatomnus was built in the 4th century BCE by his son Maussollos. The mausoleum, a precursor to the Mausoleion of Halicarnassus, is renowned for its historical and architectural significance. The burial chamber features a marble sarcophagus adorned with intricate reliefs depicting scenes such as a "Feast Scene" and a "Lion Hunt." The complex also houses the Emin Agha Mansion and Milas Carpet Museum, offering visitors insights into various architectural styles and the region’s historical significance.
