Lycian Way

The Lycian Way, with thousands of years of history and still used by nomads, stretches from Fethiye to Antalya. The Ancient Cities of the Lycian Civilization are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List as a Cultural Heritage Site. Passing between the coast and mountains, the route primarily consists of Roman roads, ancient paths, and mule tracks. Along the trail, natural wonders such as Kabak Bay, Cennet Bay, Butterfly Valley, Patara, Kekova, Pirate Bay, Gelidonya Lighthouse, Adrasan, and Çıralı; and ancient cities like Antiphellos, Sdyma, Letoon, Limyra, Simena, Xanthos, Patara, Apollonia, Chimera, Myra, Olympos, and Phaselis can be explored. It is also possible to swim in pristine bays and stay in accommodation facilities, local lodges, or tents along the way. Walking the Lycian Way offers unforgettable encounters with local people, many of whom provide accommodations and local culinary delights along the route. These range from beach cabins in Butterfly Valley to yoga camps in Kabak Valley, stylish villas in Kalkan, village bed and breakfasts, and small hotels in Kaş, Kaleköy, and Adrasan. Alternatively, you may choose to pitch your tent on a peaceful beach or accept an invitation for a night’s stay from a welcoming villager.
