İzmir Atatürk Museum
The museum building, originally constructed between 1875 and 1880 by carpet merchant Takfor, blends Neoclassical, Ottoman, and Levantine architectural styles. After its abandonment in 1922, it was transferred to the Ministry of Treasury, and the İzmir Economic Congress took place here in 1923, with Atatürk using the space for his personal work. Purchased by the İzmir Municipality in 1926, it was later gifted to Atatürk, who stayed there during his visits between 1930 and 1934. In 1941, it was opened to the public as a museum and renamed the 'Atatürk Museum' in 1988. The first floor houses Atatürk's study, meeting room, bedroom, and library, featuring period furniture, statues, and oil paintings.
