Kınalıada: Where Turquoise Waters Meet Ancient Tales

With an area of 1.5 square kilometers, Kınalıada is the smallest of the Princes’ Islands and features Çınar Hill at an elevation of 115 meters, Teşrifiye Hill at 110 meters, and Monastery Hill at 93 meters. Kınalıada got its name due to its reddish appearance from afar when it was once covered with maquis shrubland. Stones quarried from Kınalıada were used in the construction of the Istanbul city walls, and in the 19th century, island stones were also utilized in the construction of Tophane Dock and Haydarpaşa Port.
