"Reflecting the historical texture of Iğdır, the Kervansaray is located on a secondary road that continues south from the 6th kilometer of the Tuzluca highway, near the village of Taşlıca. Positioned on an old route believed to connect Batumi and Tabriz, this structure stands as one of the last examples of Seljuk caravanserai architecture from the late 13th or early 14th century, characterized by its courtyard-less and rectangular layout."
"The ram-headed gravestones found in all old cemeteries throughout the Iğdır plain (Ararat plain) are the lasting traces from the Karakoyunlu Period. According to the Karakoyunlu tradition, these gravestones were erected on the graves of brave and heroic individuals, as well as young people who died early. The Karakoyunlu inherited this tradition from the Central Asian Turkish Culture, as they were a nomadic society whose economy was based solely on animal husbandry."
