Cehennem Deresi Canyon
Cehennem Deresi Canyon (lit. Hell Creek Canyon) is situated near Artvin and lies within the district of Ardanuç. The canyon is world famous with a height of up to 500 meters, a width of 70 meters, and a depth of 6 meters. Prepare yourself for a challenge, as there are narrow roads and stony, steep paths ahead! There are plenty of places to explore, starting with the highlands of Artvin. To get to the canyon, you need to follow steep and narrow paths. One of the world’s few canyon valleys, Cehennem Deresi is probably the most popular canyon of Türkiye’s Black Sea region. Located in the city of Artvin, the canyon was declared a national park and is equipped with wooden stairs to add to the overall fun. It’s famed primarily for being the second-highest canyon in the world, following Arizona’s Grand Canyon, and is excellent for nature sports like hiking and trekking.
