Uncover Timeless Tales at Myndos, Muğla's Sun-Kissed Gem!

The ancient city of Myndos, mentioned by ancient writers, is known today as Gümüşlük. Founded by the famous Karian king Mausolus, it is easily accessible. Apart from the remains of Eastern Roman churches, several walls, the remains of the wall known as the Leleg wall on the hill, and the remnants of a pier and tower, almost nothing is visible on the surface. However, upon closer inspection, one can find semi-covered columns, traces of mosaics, and ceramic fragments scattered almost everywhere beneath the soil. This city, besieged but never conquered by Alexander the Great, is now a charming fishing village. In antiquity, it was known for wine production; Myndos wine was mixed with seawater, believed to be good for digestion.
