Diyarbakır Archaeological Museum
The Diyarbakır Archeology Museum in Türkiye, established in 1934, houses a collection of artifacts spanning various historical periods and civilizations. These artifacts include items from the Prehistoric, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Old Bronze, Iron Age, Urartu, Assyrian, Hellenistic, Roman, Parthian, Eastern Roman (Byzantine), Seljuk, and Akkoyunlu eras. The museum contains 35,563 coins, as well as archaeological and ethnographic works from civilizations such as Ayyubid, Abbasid, Umayyad, Sassanid, and Ottoman. The Museum Directorate, located in Diyarbakır İçkale, is comprised of a complex area with 14 registered buildings, including structures like Amida Mound, Artuklu Palace, St. George Church, and the Tomb of 27 Companions. These buildings serve various functions, reflecting the rich history and cultural diversity of the region.
