History Awaits in Bodrum Castle, Muğla – Unearth your Adventure in Antiquity!

Bodrum Castle was built by the Knights of St. John between 1406 and 1522 on a rocky peninsula between two harbors. Originally an island in ancient times, it later became connected to the mainland, forming a peninsula. The castle, with its square layout measuring 180m x 185m, was constructed using stones from the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which was destroyed over time by earthquakes.

Zeki Müren, a prominent Turkish artist, lived in a two-storey house in Bodrum from 1980 until his passing in 1996. The house was renovated by the Ministry of Culture and opened as a museum in 2000. The lower floor is preserved as it was during Müren's lifetime, while the upper floor functions as a museum displaying information, documents, photographs, stage costumes, and personal items related to his life and career.
