Batman museum

The Batman Museum is a regional museum featuring three exhibition halls showcasing artifacts from the Paleolithic Period to the Medieval Ages. The museum oversees salvage excavations in Batman and Siirt provinces that will be flooded by the Ilısu Dam Reservoir. Visitors can explore significant artifacts such as game pieces, stelea, Bronze Funeral Gifts, and God Bes. Documentary films about excavations are available in the museum's projector room, and there is a library and laboratory for artifact restoration. The Museum Park Project is being developed by the museum to offer living history experiences in the garden, with models of historical houses and exhibits on funeral traditions, game pieces, and life in Hasankeyf. The project aims to inform visitors, especially students, on historical awareness and archaeological excavations through interactive experiences and practical training with specialist archaeologists.
