Abide Hatun Mosque
Step into History, Embrace Tranquillity at Abide Hatun Mosque, Türkiye's Sacred Legacy
The Abide Hatun Mosque was built in 1669 by Kara Mustafa Pasha located in the Merzifon district, in honour of his mother, Abide Hatun. The most remarkable aspect of the mosque is the painted decorations inside. The ceiling, composed of wooden beams, the spaces between the beams, and the ceiling of the women’s section in the northern part, supported by a thick beam, are all vibrantly decorated with plant and floral motifs. It is considered one of the most beautiful examples of Ottoman art in terms of its ornamentation.
